1. Hi Elyse, thank you for taking some time for this interview! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into modeling? What drew you to this profession?
Thank you for the opportunity to share! I’m a local model from Boston, Massachusetts who’s getting to enjoy the art, creativity and fun of the modeling industry. This really started for me when I was looking to make some additional income and found that my dance background was the perfect place to begin.
2. What kind of modeling work do you enjoy the most? Do you prefer high-fashion runway shows, editorial shoots, commercial work, or something else entirely?
My favorite type is editorial shoots; I really enjoy having a theme to work with, whether it’s dressing up for a vintage Hollywood shoot or an afternoon high tea! I think it’s really nice when the set, wardrobe and props all come together for the final result.
7. When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or interests that might surprise people?
My biggest hobby is dance! No surprise there if you’ve seen my work. An interest people might not know is that I like to travel and try to explore outside the US each year. This year’s trip was to New Zealand, and it was verdant and beautiful.
8. What’s next for you in your career? Any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re particularly excited about?
I have my first Commercial Work coming up and I’m excited to try this new avenue of modeling that I haven’t experienced before.
9. The setting for this tea shoot is really unique: how did you find it?
I’ve always wanted to do a photoshoot at a “high tea” location, and this one was definitely my favorite. It’s called the Ladyfinger’s Tea Lounge at the historic Garrison Inn. You can actually experience high tea there if you’re a guest at their inn!
10. This was your first time working with the photographer Bob Durling: what was is like shooting with him?
Bob was great to work with! He has an easy-going way about him that puts you at ease. Plus, he’s not opposed to moving lots of heavy pink chairs around a set to get just the right shot (:
